2022 Valorant Champions: LOUD and OpTic Meet Again
The action is heating up in Istanbul, with the 2022 Valorant Champions slowly coming into it's final stages. Only six out of 16 teams are left, all with a dream of raising the trophy in front of thousands of fans in the arena.
A repeat of Stage 1 Reykjavik Masters
North America's OpTic Gaming and Brazilian squad LOUD are going to face off in an Upper bracket final. It is the same scenario as in Reykjavik at the first international tournament of 2022.
Back then, LOUD took the upper hand; however, OpTic managed to avenge themselves when it mattered the most, the Grand final. This is going to be the fifth time these two teams meet, with OpTic winning three times.
OpTic had a very tough road to the Upper bracket final, as they had to go through EMEA's Team Liquid and their NA rivals XSET. Both matches were very competitive, as they won both 2-1.
LOUD, on the other hand, won both of their matches much more comfortably. First, they took down LATAM's Leviatán, before defeating Korea's DRX without losing a map.
Lower bracket brawl
The Lower bracket quarterfinals feature two super exciting matches. The first fight for the tournament survival will be between XSET and reigning Masters champions, Europe's FunPlus Phoenix. After them, Fnatic will face off against DRX to determine the top four teams at 2022 Valorant Champions.
FPX lost to DRX in the first round of playoffs before they knocked out Leviatánin the Lower bracket round one. On the other hand, Fnatic suffered a heavy defeat from XSET but defeated Team Liquid in a crucial EU derby.
Valorant Champions Playoffs continue on Tuesday, September 13th, and you can watch all the action live on Twitch and YouTube. Also, check out the full schedule over at valorantesports.com.
