Winners and Losers - Patch 12.4

Winners and Losers - Patch 12.4

Now that the changes from the latest patch have settled, let’s take a look at some of the patch’s biggest winners and losers.

Hullbreaker

After a slew of bruiser items were changed in Patch 12.3, Hullbreaker has emerged as a fantastic item in the top lane. Champions like Camille, Jayce and Gnar have been building it as a first item before their mythic due to its 117% gold efficiency and cheap price of only 2800 gold. Additionally, the buff it provides to you and your minions when no allies are nearby is incredibly useful for split pushing and taking towers when paired with Demolish. Rushing it is essential at the moment, as if you don’t, you are constantly being pushed in by the enemy and cannot match their split pushing power.

Lucian and Nami

These two have been a powerhouse in the bot lane for a while, as Nami’s E (Tidecaller’s Blessing) synergises excellently with Lucian’s updated passive. Both received small buffs in the patch, with a slight damage increase to Nami’s E and a minor mana cost reduction to Lucian’s Q (Piercing Light). This allows them to trade more often in lane and will make these trades more potent, making this duo even more of a threat in the laning phase. Dominating in lane is essential for this duo, as you need to snowball an early game advantage considering they are weaker outside of the laning phase.

Renata Glasc

The newest champion to hit the Rift has already made her presence known, as Renata Glasc has already asserted herself as a great support pick. By taking Summon Aery as your keystone, her Q and E provide decent poke damage in lane, while her AoE ultimate can cause absolute chaos in team fights. Additionally, she has a lot of skill expression with her W as perfectly timed uses can save allies and completely turn skirmishes. She currently has around a 51% win rate in Platinum ranks and above, and has already received a small hotfix nerf to her armour, passive damage, and the cooldown and health revive from her W.
