Unit Tier List 12.19

The long-awaited balancing patch brought down the power levels of some strong units which defined the meta. While they remained strong, they are no longer auto-picked like before. Here are the best units in Patch 12.19 in TFT:

  • Ao Shin
  • Bard
  • Terra
  • Shyvana
  • Olaf

Ao Shin

Cost: 8 gold

Traits: Tempest, Dragon

Ability: Lightning Rain (active) - Ao Shin fires a barrage of 20 lightning strikes at random enemies. Each strike deals magic damage and drains 20 Mana from his target.

Damage: 250 / 450 / 2500

Ao Shin is one of the most contested dragons due to his devastating ability. He can demolish opposing boards if properly built around. He is a carry of multiple strong compositions in the current patch.

Bard

Cost: 5 gold

Traits: Guild, Bard, Mystic

Ability: Tempered Fate (active) - Bard sends magical energy toward the largest group of enemies, stunning them for a few seconds and causing them to take increased damage while stunned. If he hits at least 1 enemy, Bard dances in celebration.

Stun Duration: 1.25 / 2 / 15

Increased Damage: 15% / 20% / 9999%

Bard is a powerful 5-cost unit with a very strong ability that can give your units enough time to deliver devastating blows while your opponent's board is stunned. He is a core unit in most top compositions due to his powerful ability.

Terra

Cost: 8 gold

Traits: Monolith, Dragon

Ability: Earthquake (active) - Terra stomps three times causing an earthquake around them, dealing 200% of their Attack Damage plus a percent of their combined Armor and Magic Resist. At the end of the earthquake Terra's scales are hardened for 8 seconds, granting Armor and Magic Resist.

Armor and Magic Resist Damage Percent: 150% / 200% / 4000%

Armor and Magic Resist Buff: 150 / 200 / 4000

Terra is the latest addition in the mini-set with a strong new trait called Monolith, which gives an 18% damage reduction in 3 different hexes on the battlefield. If you have the trait active and a couple of tanky items on Terra, they will become unstoppable and provide one of the frontlines in the game.

Shyvana

Cost: 8 gold

Traits: Ragewing, Shapeshifter, Dragon

Ability: Dragon's Descent (active) - Shyvana transforms into Dragon Form for the rest of combat, replacing her ability with Flame Breath. She then becomes untargetable before dive-bombing the largest group of enemies, dealing magic damage and stunning them for 1.5 seconds. After landing, Shyvana casts Flame Breath again immediately.

Flame Breath: Shyvana breathes fire in a cone, dealing magic damage. While breathing fire, Shyvana is always enraged.

Intial Damage: 80 / 150 / 500

Breath Damage: 700 / 1200 / 20000

Following the dragon trait rework, Shyvana became a huge threat. She is contested by all players due to how well she fits into the most powerful compositions of the current patch. She is one of the most flexible dragons and is an instant pick-up whenever seen is shop and that is unlikely to change for the near future unless Riot nerfs her.

Olaf

Cost: 3 gold

Traits: Scalescorn, Bruiser, Warrior

Ability: Recklessness (active) - Passive: Olaf seeks glorious death, permanently gaining 4 Attack Damage (10 in Hyper Roll) whenever he dies. Active: Olaf strikes his target, dealing a percent of his Attack Damage and gaining Attack Speed for 6 seconds. If he's below 50% Health, the Attack Speed is doubled.

Attack Speed Bonus: 35% / 45% / 60%

Percent of Attack Damage: 220% / 230% / 240%

Olaf is one of the strongest units in the game currently. He defines the meta and players who are able to pick him up early can build a lot of strong compositions with his aid.
