TFT Roadmap for 2023
Riot shared details about the next plans for TFT in their latest Dev Drop.
The next set coming to the game is Monsters Attack, which will bring back familiar traits while also undergoing some significant changes to the systems to make the game more interesting.
Systems
Augments will become evergreen and will get balanced accordingly from set to set. On top of that, a new set of augments is being introduced to the game called Hero Augments. Instead of having blanket effects, they will buff up a specific unit to make your chosen unit a Super Hero or Super Villain.
A couple of example of such types of Augments was seen in the video where Alistar got an upgrade to his ability to be AoE instead of single target while also giving him a lot of health. His other Hero Augment gave his ability max health scaling.
These Hero Augments are very strong and Riot added a couple of controls to keep them in check. They are offered only once per game and are offered to all players at the same time. Every unit will have 2 Hero Augments specific to them, giving you plenty of options to build strong compositions.
Gameplay
No units that take 2 slots in your army will be present in the next set. This mechanic which was a core system of Dragonlands is gone once the next set launches. New units and traits are being added to the game with Star Guardians as the primary focus.
Cosmetics
There are a couple of cool cosmetics coming in the next set. There's a new Mythic Star Guardian board with background music alongside Chibis for Ahri and Lux. Each variant will have an exclusive finisher. The plan for the next sets is to have a higher amount of cosmetics to give players more ways to customize their gameplay.
