Team Composition Tier List 12.17
Patch 12.17, the first patch of the mini-set has finally arrived and with it the meta has changed drastically. While some compositions were able to withstand the changed due to not losing their primary units, others suffered devastating blows and instead of them new compositions appeared. Here are the best compositions in the latest patch:
- 6 Tempest, 4 Dragonmancer
- 6 Cannoneer, 2 Darkflight
- 4 Dragon, 3 Monolith
- 6 Mirage, 4 Cavalier
- 6 Dragonmancer, 2 Mirage
6 Tempest, 4 Dragonmancer
Key units: Ao Shin, Lee Sin
Key items: B.F. Sword, Tear of the Goddess, Needlessly Large Rod, Sparring Gloves
(aim to create Hand of Justice, Infinity Edge, and Jeweled Gauntlet)
Key augments: Tempest Crown, Dragonmancer Crown
This composition focuses on stacking Dragonmancers and then picking up either a Lee Sin or Ao Shin to carry the match. If Lee Sin is leveled up to 3 stars with the key items noted, he will demolish the squishy targets with ease and won't have a hard time with tanky targets either.
The plan early on should be on just picking up the item components listed above and funnel them onto a low-cost unit that you encounter in the carousel or shop before you are able to access your higher-cost key units. The main tactic used is 'Standard' for this composition, ensuring a healthy balance between levels and scouting for units to upgrade them to a higher tier.
6 Cannoneer, 2 Darkflight
Key units: Graves, Rell
Key items: Chain Vest, B.F. Sword, Recurve Bow, Needlessly Large Rod (aim to create Guinsoo's Rageblade, Bloodthirster, and Titan's Resolve)
Key augments: Cannoneer Crest, Double Trouble III
This composition focuses on building a lot of backline carries with no frontline who will hit the opposing board from a safe distance and hopefully demolish them before they reach your team.
During the carousel, try to pick up the required item components for Guinsoo which is your must-have item in this composition to enable Graves, who will be your primary carry. Afterward, start building the other core items while rolling for Cannoneer units. The main tactic used is 'Standard' for this composition, ensuring a healthy balance between levels and scouting for units to upgrade them to a higher tier.
4 Dragon, 3 Monolith
Key units: Terra, Ao Shin
Key items: Negatron Cloak, Needlessly Large Rod, Tear of the Goddess, B.F. Sword (aim to create Ionic Spark, Hextech Gunblade, and Archangel's Staff)
Key augments: Age of Dragons, Guardian Crown
This composition is focused on stacking up Dragons with Terra as the core frontline and Ao Shin as the core damage-dealing threat. The Monolith trait when activated will give an 18 percent damage reduction to 3 hexes, making your already hard-to-kill Dragons even harder to kill.
Your main priority with this composition is picking up required item components and strong early game units to quickly transition into your comp which requires a lot of expensive units. The main tactic used is 'Fast 8' for this composition, with the aim to reach level 8 in early stage 4 to pick up the 4 and 5 cost units before your opponents and funnel your items onto them.
6 Mirage, 4 Cavalier
Key units: Daeja, Nunu
Key items: Needlessly Large Rod, Recurve Bow, B.F. Sword (aim to create Guinsoo's Rageblade, Giant Slayer and Hextech Gunblade)
Key augments: Mirage Crest, Mirage Crown
This composition works out great with Daeja as the primary carry in the backline. He will devastate your opponent's board with the proper items while the opposing units will be busy dealing with your strong frontline in Nunu.
Aim to pick up the required item components to build Guinsoo's Rageblade to empower your Daeja once you pick him up. Until then, use the items on any carry you encounter in your shop or the carousel. The main tactic used is 'Standard' for this composition, ensuring a healthy balance between levels and scouting for units to upgrade them to a higher tier.
6 Dragonmancer, 2 Mirage
Key units: Nunu, Yasuo
Key items: Spatula, Negatron Cloak, Needlessly Large Rod, Tear of the Goddess, B.F. Sword, Sparring Gloves (aim to create Dragonmancer Emblem, Hand of Justice, and Bloodthirster)
Key augments: Dragonmancer Crown, Dragonmancer Crest
This composition focuses on stacking Dragonmancer units and leveling up to Nunu and giving him the Dragonmancer Emblem to make him beefy and unkillable. His ability will deal true damage to opposing units and will quickly clear the board with the proper items.
Aim to pick up a spatula whenever you see it and then focus on picking up a Needlessly Large Rod to create the Dragonamcer Emblem. While this tactic is underway, focus also on picking up key Dragonmancer units and Nunu, the most crucial unit in the composition. The main tactic used is 'Slow roll' for this composition, with the aim of rolling all excess gold to get 3-star units by level 7.
