Patch 12.12 Overview
The latest patch targets more of the biggest winners and losers from the durability changes.
Mid Lane
Bruiser Katarina has been a problematic pick, outputting a ton of damage without taking any in return. This build has thankfully been nerfed with some adjustments to her ratios:
- Passive (Voracity) - magic damage upon retrieving dagger - bonus AD ratio reduced to 65%, down from 75%
- E (Shunpo) - damage changed to 20/35/50/65/80 (+40% AD) (+25% AP), changed from 15/30/45/60/75 (+50% AD) (+25% AP)
- Ultimate (Death Lotus) - physical damage per dagger decreased to 16% (+16% per 0.7 total attack speed) bonus AD, down from 16% (+12.8% per 1.0 total attack speed) bonus AD
- On-hit effectiveness per dagger increased to 28/33/38%, up from 25/30/35%
Heimerdinger has been largely invisible for a while now, so has received some buffs to make him more of a threat:
- Q (H-28G Evolution Turret) - health increased to 175-700 (+5-40%) (levels 1-18), up from 150-575 (+5-40%)
- Damage increased to 7/11/15/19/23 (+35% AP), up from 6/9/12/15/18
- E (CH-2 Electron Storm Grenade) - cooldown reduced to 11 seconds, down from 12
Annie has also received a small buff, making Tibbers more durable and increasing her Q damage:
- Q (Disintegrate) - damage increased to 80/115/150/185/220 (+80% AP), up from (+75% AP)
- Ultimate (Summon: Tibbers) - Tibbers' base health increased to 1300/2200/3100, up from 1200/2100/3000
- Tibbers' base armour and MR increased to 30/60/90, up from 30/50/70
Supports
Several supports have received changes this patch. Amumu support was a very strong pick for a few patches last season, but was gutted once his Q mana cost was increased. These changes have now been reverted:
- Q (Bandage Toss) - mana cost reduced to 30/35/40/45/50, reduced from 70
- Ultimate (Curse of the Sad Mummy) - damage increased to 200/300/400 (+80% AP), up from 150/250/350
The Q mana cost is dramatically lower so can be cast a lot more in lane, and between its 2 charges and Amumu's ult, he has a ton of potent engage tools. Janna was a very strong pick ever since the durability changes, so has received some changes:
- W (Zephyr) - movement speed decreased to 6/7/8/9/10% (+2% per 100AP), down from 6/7.5/9/10.5/12%
- Slow decreased to 20/24/28/32/36% (+6% per 100AP), down from 24/28/32/36/40%
- E (Eye of the Storm) - shield decreased to 65/90/115/140/165 (+55% AP), down from 75/100/125/150/175 (+60% AP)
This will make her more vulnerable, as she will be easier to catch out and will be providing a weaker shield. Meanwhile, Seraphine has received a buff after struggling in the meta for a while:
- E (Beat Drop) - cooldown reduced to 10 seconds, down from 11/10.5/10/9.5/9
- Slow and stun duration increased to 1.5 seconds, up from 1 second
The increased slow/stun duration will make her CC combos even more threatening, and the CD reduction means maxing Q second will be more valuable when playing Seraphine support.
Jungle
Despite being one of the most unique junglers on the Rift, Ivern has failed to make his mark recently. He has therefore received some utility buffs:
- Passive (Friend of the Forest) - base health cost decreased to 20-3% (levels 1-18), down from 23.5-6.5%
- Base mana cost decreased to 30-4.5% (levels 1-18), down from 34.5-9%
- E (Triggerseed) - shield increased to 80/115/150/185/220 (+75% AP), up from 70/100/130/160/190
- Ultimate (Daisy!) - Daisy's health increased to 1300/2600/3900 (+50% AP), up from 1250/2500/3750
- Daisy's armour and MR increased to 20/50/100 (+5% AP), up from 15/40/90
Finally, Bel'Veth has been a strong pick since her debut thanks to her team-fighting reset potential and strong scaling. She has received a slew of nerfs, including:
- Basic attack range increased to 175, up from 125
- Passive (Death in Lavender) - bonus attack speed per stack decreased to 0.28-1% (levels 1-13), down from 0.25-1.25% (levels 1-18)
- New effect - Bel'Veth now gains 1 stack per large minion
- E (Royal Maelstrom) - minimum damage per hit decreased to 8/10/12/14/16 (+6% AD), down from 8/11/14/17/20
- Life steal reduced to 20/21.5/23/24.5/26%, down from 20/22/24/26/28
- Ultimate (Endless Banquet) - explosion damage based on target's missing health reduced to 25%, down from 25/30/35%
- Bonus attack range reduced to 50, down from 50/75/100
- Void Remora health reduced to 50/60/70% of minion's maximum health, down from 70%
Summary
Outside of the changes on the Rift, Riot announced the Blue Essence Emporium would be making a long-awaited return. However, they also stated it would be on an indefinite hiatus after this patch as they attempt to make it run more efficiently, so spend that Blue Essence while you can!
