EDG vs DRX
To begin their incredible reverse sweep against the reiging world champions, DRX pulled off an excellent team fight as their base was being taken; let's break down how they did it.
The Play
Chaining CC
The fight kicks off Sylas (Zeka) moving forward to try and find a pick with his Everfrost/stun combo. He is forced to retreat after missing the Everfrost, while Renata Glasc's (Meiko) ultimate is used. This splits up DRX as they narrowly avoid being caught in the ult:
Sylas is chunked for a decent amount, but is able to steal the Renata ult. Fiora (Flandre) then joins the fight with the teleport, but is immediately forced to Riposte the stolen Renata ult. Even though Fiora is able to avoid its CC, the ult lands on EDG's two hyper carries in Kalista (Viper) and Viktor (Scout):
Not only are they stunned in place, but they're shredding through each other's health bars. DRX see this as their chance to pounce; Viper is able to move back with Heal, but Viktor is forced to Stopwatch. With Viktor in statis, Soraka (Beryl) places the E below Viktor to root him once the statis ends:
League of DRAAVEN
The rooted Viktor is helpless in the face of DRX, and is popped by Draven (Deft). This not only granted shut down gold, but also the hundreds of Draven stacks he had accumulated over the 34 minute game. The single gold granted over 1200 gold to the Draven, and 2000 gold to the team.
DRX then push their numbers advantage, starting with the Fiora. Aatrox (Kingen) lands his chains on the escaping Fiora, dragging her back into the fight and forcing her to Flash away.
Kalista and Renata attempt to turn the fight in EDG's favour with the Kalista ult, but this merely sends the Renata into her death. DRX finish with a final kill on the Kalista, and immediately take the Baron.
This would be the turning point in the game and series, as DRX were able to complete the reverse sweep from a 0-2 deficit.
Summary
This was a beautifully executed team fight from DRX, mainly thanks to Zeka's stolen Renata ult. Locking down the two fed carries on EDG was one thing, but forcing them to damage each other was even better.
Once DRX created the opportunity for themselves, they pounced onto the priority targets, then gave the kill to the Draven who could cash in a ludicrous amount of gold.
