12.15 Patch Notes
The latest changes nerf some of the strongest champions in the meta, and buffs champions with energy restoration; let's break down the biggest talking points.
Energy Restoration
Since the durability update, team fights have lasted longer with champions taking much longer to kill. Champions who use energy as their resource have struggled having enough energy in these extended team fights, so their energy regen has been buffed:
- Akali W (Twilight Shroud) - energy restoration increased to 100, up from 80
- Max energy increase - 100, up from 80
- Lee Sin Q (Sonic Wave/Resonating Strike) - energy cost reduced to 25, down from 30
- W (Safeguard/Iron Will) - energy cost reduced to 25, down from 30
- E (Tempest/Cripple) - energy cost reduced to 25, down from 30
- Shen E (Shadow Dash) - energy refunded upon dealing damage with passive or E increased to 30/40/50, up from 30/35/40
- Zed W (Living Shadow) - shadow spell mimic range has no limit, changed from 2000
- E (Shadow Slash) - energy cost reduced to 40, down from 50
Engage Supports
Some engage supports have been struggling since the durability updates after the meta was dominated by enchanters. Squishy carries are now able to survive Leona's engage, so she has received some buffs:
- Q (Shield Of Daybreak) - mana cost reduced to 35/40/45/50/55, down from 45/50/55/60/65
- Ultimate (Solar Flare) - stun/slow duration increased to 1.75 seconds, up from 1.5 seconds
Thresh has been facing similar issues and has been a largely invisible pick in the meta. Therefore, his Q cooldown and damage have been buffed:
- Q (Death Sentence) - cooldown reduced to 19/17/15/13/11, down from 20/18/16/14/12
- Magic damage increased to 100/140/180/220/260, up from 80/120/160/200/240
Sivir and Qiyana
Two of the best picks from the latest patch have received some justified nerfs. Sivir has been fantastic since her mid-scope update, cruising through lanes with her wave clear before popping off in the late game. She will still be a late game powerhouse, but her safety and utility have been nerfed slightly:
- Attack damage growth reduced to 3, down from 3.3
- E (Spell Shield) - cooldown increased to 24/22.5/21/19.5/18, up from 22/20/18/16/14
- Ultimate (On The Hunt) - cooldown increased to 120/100/80, up from 100/85/70
Thanks to a bug wherein she could proc her passive twice with First Strike, Qiyana was unstoppable on the last patch. This bug has been fixed, along with some nerfs to her passive damage:
- Passive (Royal Privilege) - damage reduced to 15-83 (levels 1-18)(+30% bonus AD) (+30%AP), down from (+45% bonus AD)
- Fixed a bug where Qiyana could apply an extra proc of her passive with First Strike
Singed and Kennen
Finally, these spicy top lane picks have been buffed. Kennen is defined by the incredible team fighting power of his ult, so its scaling has been buffed:
- W (Electrical Surge) - cooldown reduced to 13/11.25/9.5/7.75/6 seconds, down from 14/12/10/8/6 seconds
- Magic damage increased to 70/95/120/145/170, up from 60/85/110/135/160
- Ultimate (Slicing Maelstrom) - magic damage per bolt increased to 40/75/110 (+22.5% AP), up from (+20% AP)
Singed is at his best when he is running around a fight causing chaos with his poison. With buffs to his movement speed and ultimate, he will now be even more slippery and annoying during team fights:
- Passive (Noxious Slipstream) - bonus movement speed increased to 25%, up from 20%
- Per-target cooldown reduced to 8 seconds, down from 10
- Ultimate (Insanity Potion) - bonus stats increased to 30/65/100, up from 20/60/100
Summary
Though this is a softer patch compared to the objective changes in 12.14, the latest update shakes up some key champion picks in every role. Keep your eyes peeled to see how they've affected the meta!
